San Clemente High School Senior Photos with an Urban Twist | Coltin, Class of 2025
Celebrating Coltin’s graduation and next chapter in front of bold graffiti walls in Santa Ana
It’s always an honor to photograph high school seniors, but it’s extra meaningful when they’re stepping into service for our country. Meet Coltin — a Class of 2025 graduate from San Clemente High School who is headed into the United States Marine Corps after graduation!
I first met Coltin’s family during a fall session in 2024 at Rancho Las Lomas, and right away his mom mentioned wanting to plan something special for his senior portraits. She had a clear vision: bold graffiti walls in Santa Ana that would match Coltin’s cool, “punk rock” vibe. She knew that a traditional session just wouldn’t fit — and she was absolutely right. This urban backdrop was perfect.
Coltin rocked a black-on-black outfit with a white tee and a chain accent — giving off a classic greaser-meets-alt-energy feel that popped beautifully against the colorful murals. From gritty textures to vibrant colors, this Santa Ana location gave us the perfect variety to show off both his laid-back confidence and his strong sense of style.
And of course, we made time to capture some classic graduation portraits too! I brought along one of my client wardrobe perks — a black cap and gown for Coltin to borrow during his session. I always keep caps and gowns in various colors and sizes on hand for my grad clients so parents can have those “official” milestone images, even if the school doesn’t provide them until the last minute.
This session was such a fun blend of edge, personality, and meaning. Coltin’s decision to serve in the Marines speaks volumes about his character, and I’m so glad I got to document this major moment before he takes off on the next chapter.
