Sun, Sand, Sea.... and Cake??

I could not be more in love with this adorable Laguna Beach Cake Smash session for Miss M's first birthday! Her family did a holiday VW Bus session a few months before she turned one and we started planning then. Her momma had seen me rehabing my Little Tikes car into a "VW" and she knew we had to use it for M's cake smash.

We started with a few pre-cake photos and M was wearing a classic outfit - jeans and white shirt....

A VW Bus makes everything better....

My rehabbed Little Tikes car into a "VW" was a labor of love but I knew how cute it would be, especially for sessions exactly like this one.... that's why I picked a classic beach color. Miss M changed outfits and was super excited to get in and take it for a little spin during her session before we broke out the cake.

These images are a must of any beach cake smash sessions and often elicit "awwwwwwws" from everyone on the beach because they are so freaking cute!!!!!

Finally, time for cake!!! I feel like we never know quite how this is going to go.... some kids love it, some hate it, some are indifferent and couldn't care less. I love using the surfboard at the beach for the cake smash, keeping it simple and the focus on the baby, the cake and their reactions - good or bad.
